ChilliDB Essentials: Member Portal Configuration - Branding Setup

Configuring the branding of your member portal is an essential step in providing a personalised solution to your member's needs that reflects the look and feel of your organisation.

The following article provides a detailed overview of how to configure the branding for you portal so it looks exactly how you wish it to.

The branding tab that houses all of the configuration options for this aspect of your member portal is grouped with other essential configurations in the 'Manage Member Portal' section of the system. For details on how to navigate to this section, see our ChilliDB Essentials: Member Portal Configuration Quick Start article. Under this tab there are various options to apply logos; colour schemes; and other choices related to your member portal formatting.

i) Logo

Users can choose their company logo to display in the member portal here. The logos available to choose from are those that have been added to ChilliDB via the ‘System Configuration’ settings related to logos. If you haven’t added any logos to your system, follow the instructions below:

Adding logos to ChilliDB

a) Navigate to the System menu in ChilliDB

b) Select ‘System Management’

c) From the available options, choose ‘Manage System Configuration’

d) Enter ‘logo’ in the search bar and select ‘Filter’. This will display a list of settings related to logos that you are able to change. The settings that allow you to upload your own logo are highlighted in green below.

Note: the search results will also reveal other system configuration settings for logos that can be used to set background colours; upload files for the background; adjust logo sizing; and decide if the logo is shown on page headers.

e) To upload a logo, select ‘Custom’ from the Value dropdown menu and then select ‘Choose file’ and find the file you wish to upload. Once ‘Update’ is clicked, your logo will be applied to your site and will be available for your member portal.

The member portal also provides users with the options to:

i)  add padding around the logo when it is applied to the navigation bar – this adds some space around the edge of the logo so it isn’t right up against the limits of the navigation bar.

ii) Add a background colour, which may help to improve visibility of some aspects of the logo if it features transparent areas or something similar.

ii) Navigation Bar

This window provides users with options to set the colour scheme for the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the page.

iii) Buttons

Users can select the colour scheme for any buttons displayed in their member portal. The options here are:

i) Lock to navigation: if this is enabled, the colour scheme for buttons will match that selected for the navigation bar in the window above.

ii) Select own colour scheme: if ‘Lock to navigation’ is disabled, users will be able to choose the colour of the button (‘Background’) and the colour of the text displayed on the button (‘Text’) by clicking on the coloured bar next to each and the selecting the colour you want to apply.

iv) Links

As with buttons, users have the option to lock the colour scheme to an item that has been configured previously. In this case the buttons above. If this option is disabled, users will then be prompted to choose their own colour for the links in the same way as described above for buttons.

v) Cancel Buttons

Users can set a contrasting colour scheme for any cancel buttons that appear in their member portal in this section.

Once all desired options have been chosen in the Branding tab, clicking ‘Save’ will apply these options to your portal.
